To The Playoffs!

The Bruins have been playing great hockey. They most recently embarrassed the rival Canadiens in a 7-0 win that featured yet another shutout for Tim Thomas, making his Vezina case even stronger. The 7-0 win was quickly followed by a 1-0 loss to the Rangers. Tuukka Rask started in net and Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped all of the Bruins scoring chances in the game. Then the Bruins were on to play the East leading Philadelphia Flyers. The game was a great one that featured yet another strong performance in net against the Flyers, and Nathan Horton and Brad Marchand scored for the Bruins. This win against the Flyers clinched a playoff spot for the Bruins, who now look to the road ahead to finish the regular season and  move onto the playoffs.

Bruins Take Down Devils

The Bruins needed little time to get right back on track against the New Jersey Devils. This game was very important for both teams as the Bruins are fighting the Canadiens for the division and the Devils are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Devils struck first with a power play goal from Kovalchuk in the first period. Tim Thomas was beaten on the one timer snipe from Kovalchuk but settled down greatly after that. After letting up the goal the Bruins buckled down and added goals from Shawn Thorton, Zdeno Chara and Milan Lucic, with Mark Recchi adding an empty net goal to put the final nail in the coffin.
This was a great showing for the B's and they played a great game. It was also comforting to see Tim Thomas get back to his dominant ways, as he had been struggling as of late.

Next up the B's take on the Montreal Canadiens once again on thursday, and it is a very important game as both teams are battling for the division

B's Posting Mixed Results, Still In the Lead

As of today the Bruins are in first place in the division over the Montreal Canadiens with a 1 point lead. The Bruins have 11 games left to play and hope to take the division. Over the past month the B's have had their ups and downs but most recently lost 2-5 to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tim Thomas started the game but was pulled in favor of Tuukka Rask after giving up 4 goals. This is a rare happening for Thomas as he has been having a career year up to this point. In the forseeable future Tuukka will get some more starts in hopes to rest Thomas for the playoffs.

Next up the B's face the scorching Devils. It will be an interesting game as the Devils have been nearly unstoppable as of late, whereas the Bruins have been struggling more than usual.
