Bruins beat Stars, lose to Sharks

To kick off the 6-3 beating of the Dallas Stars the game started with 3 fights in 4 seconds. This was a great sight for hockey fans as in the first three whistles there were already 6 majors handed out.
You can view the fights here:
Campbell vs Ott
Thornton vs Barch
McQuaid vs Sutherby

After the dust settled the Bruins routed the Stars without much of a problem. The Bruins saw goals from Milan Lucic, Patrice Bergeron (2), and Shawn Thornton in the first, and rookies Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin added 1 goal each in the third period. The 6 goals was a welcomed result as coach Claude Julien has often been accused of playing overly defensive hockey throughout his coaching career.

The Bruins result against the Sharks was far less enjoyable. Tim Thomas was back in net and played a good game (per usual), but unfortunately the Bruins were unable to generate any real scoring chances in a game where they didn't play as smoothly as they have shown as of late. The Sharks scored early and then tallied an empty net goal late in the third. The Bruins look to turn around their fortunes when they play the Montreal Canadiens this Wednesday.

Other notes:
- Tim Thomas is continuing to play the best hockey of his career and he is showing no signs of slowing down in his quest for his second Vezina trophy.
- Marc Savard is out for the season as he has suffered another season ending concussion.

  3. As a bruins fan myself, this game was a great one. With the new rules you don't see that much often as you used to. The game tonight is going to be a good one. The biggest rivalry in hockey, always a good game.
